Providing foster care for pets of those affected by domestic abuse.
#RescueEveryone
Our amazing team of trustees, campaigners and fosterers are dedicated to work hard to help rescue all members of the family affected by domestic abuse.
Our trustees (Gavin Ridley, Hannah Bazeley and Katie Foulkes) work tirelessly to operate the charity. They are supported by a dedicated committee and team of volunteers.
Created in 2019, the founding trustee felt it was time that something more was done to help those who have suffered domestic abuse and who don't seek help because they won't leave a pet behind.
Many perpetrators of domestic abuse use threats or actual harm of pets to control partners and children. By fostering pets in secure accommodation, we make it possible for their humans to get out and get help.

We will do our utmost to always find a foster carer who can be trusted to look after the pets of domestic abuse survivors until they can be reunited. We save lives, animal and human.
We know that all sorts of animals can fall victim because all sorts of animals can be loved by a human victim of abuse. We understand why any animal can be so important to a person that they will not leave that animal behind. We also understand that it doesn't matter what that animal is. We have volunteers who will help with dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises and other reptiles (yes, even snakes), birds, fish, invertebrates, (that does include spiders!), and we even have volunteers who can help with horses and other large animals.
We also discuss how it might be best to change the law where appropriate, and conduct research into pet abuse and domestic violence, and how best this can be tackled.

It is with the greatest pleasure that we can announce our patron as of 2021, Mr Mike Beckingham, actor and animal rights campaigner. Here is what he had to say about the work of the Abused Pet Refuge Project and the abuse of pets as part of domestic abuse >>>>
He is not the only famous face associated wth us, however as they foster for us, safety demands that for now, we can't publicly thank them, however they, and all our volunteers, do amazing work.
